The Incredible Peepers of Penelope Budd is a playfully illustrated tale about a child's imagination and her incredible ability to see things just the way they are supposed to be.
With one blue eye and one brown eye Penelope Peepers isn't like everyone else. And she doesn't see things the way everyone else does, either. When ordinary folks see a puddle of mud, Penelope's incredible peepers see a rainbow-filled reflecting pool. When Uncle Frank sees weeds, Penelope's incredible peepers see beautiful lemon-colored flowers.
"Penelope Budd was born with eyes the color of midnight stars and a shock of black hair that swept across her forehead. But, at three months of age, one eye turned the color of root beer, while the other eye turned as blue as a lake ... Penelope Budd is just the way she's supposed to be. Marie Karns has an MFA in creative writing from American University. She now lives and writes on the Oregon coast, freelancing for magazines and health publications. Her work has appeared in Arthritis Today, Modern Maturity, Ladies Home Journal, and Shape.
Amy Wummer has been illustrating children's books for 12 years. She lives in Reading, Pennsylvania, with her husband, Mark, who is also an artist, and their 3 children, Jesse, Maisie, and Adam.
