Book Description
Little Dorrit, as she is known, is born in debtor's prison where her father has been sent. Dickens uses this as the basis for exposing the conditions in the debtor's prisons of this period.
Known for the characters it introduces - more than 50- the novel, through some of these characters, is a biting satire of the civil service.
First published as a serial in 1856 to 1857.
