Water pollution is a fairly "dry" subject, that is except in Pendragon's Brave Rider. In this young adult adventure novel, the two main characters, Heather and Clint, encounter water pollution in a swamp. Through their initiative and daring investigation, they solve the mystery of where the pollution originates. Heather, raised on an Indian reservation in the southwest, must learn to fit into her new life in the northeast. Clint must find a way to please his ambitious father, but at the same time stay true to his goals. The mysterious virus and the deadly pollution of a swamp bring the two teenagers together in a search for answers. Add in two Indian trained horses, a young peregrine falcon, polo competitions, and teenage rivals, and this becomes a book to interest every teen.
