"Mount Shasta is so many things to the so varied people who reside at its base. In my work I encounter people from all walks of life whose philosophies of education and of life continue to educate me. To most, it was the mountain that brought them here, be it for spiritual reasons, or environmental, or employment, or reasons similar to ours.
For us, as a family, it was the beacon that signalled a less frantic pace of life, a small town atmosphere, clean air, pure water, a playground unsurpassed for all its beauty, and recreational possibilities. Mount Shasta has been all of that, and more."
