What If. . .I am Afraid to Use the Restroom in School? by author and educator Shari Sparks begins a delightful new series of children's picture books that tackle common fears for beginning students. The fact is that no matter how excited a child may be to go to school it is normal to be a little daunted by the thought of his or her first day. It can be overwhelming to learn the ropes in a completely new and uncharted territory. That's how it is for Kelsey. While she is excited to head into the classroom, even recess, the thought of heading to the restroom is a whole other matter. When she is given the opportunity to overcome her fear by helping a new friend, she realizes that fear isn't so bad when you share your concerns and trepidations and learn to face it head on.
