When school let out for the summer, twelve-year-old Tobias "Tab" Delany and his two brothers biked out Stillwagon Road to visit their country cousins. As they passed the old, empty haunted house, they noticed a moving van. They could not believe someone planned to live in the creepy place. That is the day Tab met Lance Warren, who was also twelve. Lance was immediately likeable and very friendly. Tab seemed to be the only person to notice there was something different about Lance. Tab could not put his finger on what it was, and it didn't matter. Tab and Lance became close, dedicated friends, even after Tab discovered Lance's strange and unique handicap. They learned to deal with Lance's handicap, in good times and bad, and even through danger.
