While they're happily adding their artistic touch to every page, four- and five-year-olds are also effortlessly developing their number, writing, and visual skills--and preparing themselves for the school years ahead. For some really smart fun, kids can start by decorating a clown's costume with five stars; then, on the lines provided, they first trace, and then write freehand, the number 5. Comparing and counting come easily when children pick out pots of identical flowers from a group of six and draw a line between them. (Then they can make the picture pretty with crayons and colored pencils.) From dot-to-dots to color-by-numbers, each exercise stimulates children's brains!
