“Dark Horror, the time has come for us to dance.” I love Gaelen of the Greatwood and her nemesis, Gorgon Elfhunter. Gaelen is fearless, bold, and unwilling or maybe even unable, to back down to anyone or anything. I should loathe Gorgon, but I don’t. I found him captivating from my read of C.S Marks first book, “Elfhunter.” I kept waiting for his appearance around every corner, but it wasn’t to be. I must admit that I missed his chilling madness. Yet I was still captivated by the journey the group takes, falling into the hands of thieves, slave traders, trolls, and such. Gaelen’s hunt of the Elfhunter (and his hunt of her) and the traps that she and her companions fall into along the way had me holding my breath. The Tale of Alterra continues with Ravenshade. This book is 694 pages of girl-tough (and guys, too )adventure and is highly recommended
