Thirteen-year-old Princess Penelope has a problem. She does not want to be a princess. Although she is betrothed to Ian Wonderful who is currently awaiting his acceptance into knight school, Penelope does not want to continue attending Princess Preparatory School. She would like to attend the School of Applied Physics, become a physicist, and go on adventures. Just when she thinks that she will never be able to do so, an evil chemist Master Chemist Silas the Almost-Great kidnaps Penelope and takes her to his castle. Unfortunately, her fairy godmother is on vacation. So, in order to rescue herself and to find her way home, Penelope must break all of the rules regarding princesses. With the aid of a friendly ogre, a skittish fairy, and her well-meaning prince, she attempts to find her way home. She must rely not only on her friends, but also her knowledge of physics along with her Damsel in Distress Textbook to escape evil chemists, cabbage-head hunters, dragons, giants, pickle poppers, omenopeth, and all manner of creatures lurking in the various lands of Fairy. It is only the beginning of the wild tales of this curious princess.
