This is a beautifully illustrated book for children ages 4 to 8, written in easy-to-read rhyme. Set in New Guinea, it tells a story of how the endangered Cassowary bird helps provide homes for a variety of very endangered animals in this part of the world by eating native fruits and depositing "poop" that contains seedlings for new trees. Animals illustrated included the Tarsier, tree kangaroo, Tuatara, (residents of the earth for 200 million years, who live to be 250 years old), the Green Tree Python, Giant Wood Spider and more. The book received the Ka Palapala Poʻokela Award for Excellence in Illustration in Hawaii in 2010.
