"It's not a fire. The Hope Diamond was stolen. It's a burglar alarm," corrected John. "Someone shoved a black cloth bag over the guard's head and held him at gun point."

"The thief has to be in the building," the detective said to the other officer. "Search everybody," the detective instructed and turned away.

"Even the kids?" the officer asked with a surprised look.

"Especially, the kids," he muttered with contempt.
