The short verses ponder what it's like "beeing a bee" or sending a pet dogfish to fetch the newspaper. Does a sick eagle act "ill-eaglely?" When it rains cats and dogs, are there "poodles" on the ground, and does this lead to a "hurricanine?"

Artist Liz Ball illustrates every verse with distinctively frivolous pen-and-ink drawings, each accompanied by an in-character "chucklebug." Adding to the fun, a "chuckleslug" hides in each drawing, waiting to be discovered.
