But what could be worse than finding out the most obnoxious and annoying person at Bell Harbor Middle School is coming along? What could be worse happens on the second day of the trip, when Most Obnoxious and Annoying Person disappears. The five Pointers reluctantly go on a search party. The problems they meet include bugs, rain, cold, a cedar swamp, a strange cabin, weird laughter, a compass nobody knows how to use, and a canoe that unties itself from the dock. David has been meaning to work on his perseverance, but couldn't perseverance be a little easier?
