Paul said in his letter to the Galatians, "For I bear you record, that if it had been possible, you would have gouged out your eyes and given them to me." It was not a figure of speech at all when he said, "For we walk by faith and not by sight." (Galatians 4:13-15; 2 Corinthians 5:7) Students should note also that 2 Corinthians 10:10 and 12:10 make reference to Paul's physical infirmity (asthenes, astheneiais, disease, sickness, physical infirmity, weakness; Strong No. 769) as well as the insults, needs, persecutions and distresses, all of which he endured through God's grace.
