The Curious Courtship of King George The blue crystal marble which George has given to Chax has an important part to play. Chax causes it to grow and to be transported across the ocean, where it is discovered by Kaila, a girl whom George has met before. Kaila sees George in the crystal, and watches him as he receives his education, noting his great kindness and courage. Inspired, she excels in her own activities, winning the hearts of three suitors. When they discover the crystal, they steal it and throw it into the river. Immediately, Kaila falls into a deep slumber. George, meanwhile, has begun his rule alone. Discovering the crystal inside a huge fish, he sees the sleeping Kaila when he gazes inside the crystal. Moved with love, he lays aside his crown, embarking on a quest to find her and make her his queen.
