In this third title in the series of contemporary Catholic classics, biblical scholar and theologian Jean Corbon invites Christians into a spiritual reading of the Bible in its entirety and to explore 10 major themes of the Bible: creation, promise, pasch, exodus, covenant, kingdom, exile, return, resurrection and liturgy.

Father Corbon writes, Through a study of the chronological stages of the Old Testament, we shall try to recognize the logical and vital stages of our experience of Christ. This is not, therefore, a work of exegesis or biblical theology but rather an initiation into a spiritual reading that is, a reading in the Spirit of the Bible in its entirety.
