Center Stage os a drama/theatre curriculum designed to help students from kindergarten through grade six become more aware of themselves and their world, and through that awareness to develop critical-thinking and problem solving skills in all curriculum areas. Each of the six levels in the program has thirty sequential lessons that lead students and teacher from exploratory activities to fully developed creative dramatics. There are suggestions for the teacher on grouping and classroom management, children with special needs, resources, and connections to other content areas, as well as options for the length of time to spend on each lesson. Written to support the teacher who is unfamiliar with drama and the performing arts, as well as the more experienced teacher.
