In My Grandmother's House Plant, author Najiyyah Avery shares a splendid tale of childhood mischief and family relationships.

Nini has a huge, beautiful house plant she always keeps by the window, and she's proud to tell her grandchildren how she grew it from only two tiny leaves. Every weekend Khaleem, who is seven, and his five-year-old brother, Tijaris, and their two cousins, Zykia, who is three, and baby Jahqail go to their grandmother Nini's house. Zykia's a constant trouble maker and leaves a trail of disorder wherever she goes.

One Saturday morning when the children are supposed to be watching cartoons, Zykia decides to run around instead. Tijaris knows he had better catch her before she gets them all in trouble, which is exactly what she does.

My Grandmother's House Plant is a delightful story that is sure to entertain both grandparents and grandchildren alike.
