This collection celebrates the work of four of America's finest poets: Walt Whitman, Emily Dickinson, Robert Frost, and Carl Sandburg. To an extent, all of them have taken the road less traveled. Whitman was widely celebrated as the first thoroughly "American" poet, while Dickinson toiled in secret. Frost and Sandburg wrote about everyday incidents, finding the honest grace in common things. An all-star cast, including Stephanie Beacham, Melissa Manchester, Burt Reynolds, and Efrem Zimbalist Jr., reads the more than 100 poems.
