Explore every deck, cabin, nook and cranny, hear the sounds of ship and sea in this interactive multimedia tour of an 18th-century man-of-war. The artists illustrations bring to life a lost world of battles, hardship and heroism at sea. Packed with facts, humour, animations, entries from the crew's journals, lifelike sounds and sound effects this CD gives the user a historically accurate picture of what life was like on board an authentic fighting ship 200 years ago. There are two ways to navigate the ship: "Explore the ship" divides the vessel into ten cross-sections from bow to stem. En route the viewer encounters everything from the cannon decks to the surgeon's operating theatre: "Meet the Crew" introduces the captain, the boatswain, the cook, the gunner, and many other colourful characters. More than two hours of narration and sound effects provide entertainment as well as information with the added interest of a stowaway game. A stowaway is hidden somewhere in each of the cross-sections and the viewer is encouraged to navigate up and down the decks or zoom into individual scenes or cabins to find him.
