Each book contains a reference section which includes famous landmarks, facts and figures about the country concerned, and an index and map. The headings and illustrations are laid out with the aim of helping less experienced readers to grasp the material confidently and to gain skill in searching out information. At the same time, questions throughout the text encourage children to draw comparisons with their own country and way of life and the country portrayed.
