The first two books in this edition of the successful Jacaranda Science series have been developed to specifically reflect the new Essential Learnings that Queensland schools must aim to achieve with students by the end of Year 9. The third book in the series, Jacaranda Science 3, aims to further student's knowledge of science in Year 10 and provide a foundation for senior science study. The content for the series is drawn from the current Science KLA syllabus. This coverage is also suitable for junior science courses in Western Australia and South Australia. Features * Content, skills and processes in Books 1 and 2 are based on Essential Learnings. * Chapters are grouped into science disciplines and begin with context-opener pages to help articulation with senior science syllabus directions. *Activities in each section are graded from lower-to higher-order processes. *Practicals, Investigations and Try this activities are included in each chapter. *Looking back pages at the end of each chapter help to revise and review concepts. *Putting it all together context-closer pages allow students to reflect on the concepts learned and how they apply to the real-life situations presented in the introductory pages for each context. *Ways of working chapters help to develop science-specific skills and processes. * Each book comes with a CD-ROM containing the entire text, interactive activities, animations of key concepts, Word files for all Activities within the book and additional technology files.
