Well, that wasn't the plan initially, but the dad is pretty much depressed and half-crazed. This is a tough read for any dad who seeks to have good relations and open communication with his family. The focus of the story is how the boys survive the journey, storm, and desertion. Miraculously, they all end of together again?! I am very conflicted about this story and the characters!
