1/25/2010 Mary Sandford said: I could not put this book down. Switching from the beginning of the story to near the end until the two times met really made the story compelling. I will be thinking about Mattie, Weaver, Emmie and Grace Brown for a long time.

9/19/2009 Nicole Redmond said: One of my all-time favorites ~ the reason I started reading historical fiction. Thank you Ms. Donnelly. I didn't want this one to end. I have read her adult novels, and feel the same with every one of them. A must read for any young woman.
