In southern Africa, grassland is the veldt, and in Europe and Asia, it is known as the steppe. All of these names mean the same thing: vast areas of land with no trees and lots of grass. This book takes the reader to the grasslands that grow in latitude bands above and below the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn to explore the plants and animals that make these grasslands their home.
