An excellent example of a book that is made into an animated series and then forgotten. And that's too bad because the book FAR surpasses its subsequent animated incarnation. It's an original story of a little girl's over-active imagination which plays perfectly in the picture book format but not so well when used as a taxing, repetitive formula while animated. The illustrations in this book are brimming with fun and the colors really push the feeling of the little girl's imagination. This is in stark contrast to the over-saturated yet lifeless quality of the animated variety.
