Martin Waddell has skilfully woven together his 'dream team' of 11 players in each match described. The book is full of real action shots, and photo-realistic artwork that supports the text. Martin asks the reader to imagine their own dream team, and even confides by way of an early photograph that he himself was playing at semi-professional level in his youth. This title will really appeal to boys, in particular, who struggle to engage with a text through lack of interest or reading difficulty, but it has cross-gender appeal for girls too, who are interested in the beautiful game.
