Like the Support Book it accompanies, the Teacher's Book is divided into the main areas of study - novels and poems, drama, writing original narrative, non-fiction and media texts, and writing non-fiction texts. For every section in the book, the teacher is guided through: setting objectives; introducing the topic; using discussion to introduce activities; using the photocopy masters to structure and scaffold students' work; and reflecting on learning at the end of the lesson. All materials have been trialled in both mainstream and special schools.
