With Anastasia, 20th Century Fox is trying to follow Disney's lead and produce a lavish cartoon film that will become classic family viewing. And in the Disney tradition of book tie-ins, they have issued this extravagant volume, which describes the spectacle and artistry of Anastasia in prose and picture. The Art of Anastasia provides background to the story of the lost Russian princess, the film's titular heroine, as well as insights into how the film was animated. Directors Don Bluth and Gary Goldman wrote the introduction, while critic and historian Harvey Deneroff provided the text. The gorgeous illustrations reveal the painstaking work that went into creating this spectacular movie.
