It contains over 45,000 references, almost 50,000 examples and a checklist of all words used ten times or more in the dictionary explanations. There is full page treatment of key grammar and aspects of language use. The COBUILD format with the special extra column gives basic syntax and information on style and usage. Pronunciation is given at the start of each entry.
