I was born in a small mountain community in Virginia. My most memorable days were spent with my grandmother; taking care of all the animals she had and harvesting and canning food. In a world where everything is high speed, children seem to be left on the sidelines where education is concerned. It seems as though we want them to be already grown up and know everything so we don't have to teach them.
