About stephanie
I have always believed that magic hides in unexpected places, there for those who allow themselves to find it. As a child, people often stared at my blazing red hair - totally unaware that they had become silly characters in the funny verse that danced in my head.
Since those early days, I have come to firmly believe in the power of poetry — in children's verse, which is able to inspire a deep love of language and learning for the young with lyrical, whimsical fun. Words tripping off the tongue in somersaults, rhymes that stick to your thoughts like taffy, that's the essence of my award winning books. I have lived in lots of places, on the east coast, the west coast, and the beautiful country of France. Now I live in Northern California, between redwood trees and the sea, and I still find magic every day.

I truly believe that words can change the world, and captivating children with them — is something I deeply believe in, living my life with this in mind, always.
