About Jaimi
Hi, my name is Jaimi and I am a writer.
It feels good to say that considering for the past 40 something years I have had titles like, wife, mother and massage therapist. However, my first love has always been writing.
I have been writing ever since I can remember. In my teens I wrote poetry, in my 20's and 30's I wrote children's fantasy, but in my 40's I found my true passion. I wrote a picture book (still awaiting an illustrator) about saving dogs. I am passionate about this book more than any of the others. This is my life's purpose; raising awareness through the children about the importance of saving man’s/women’s best friend.
Since I have never been published, and I do not have an agent (don't even know how to get one), I have joined this site in hopes that someone with experience can help me with the in's and out's of this business. I have submitted my book to about three publishers and although they enjoyed my story they told me that it wasn't a good fit for their company. Hoping that they were truthful, I continue my search to find the BEST publisher for my book. I know that there are a gazillion publishing companies out there, however, as most unpublished writers know you either need an agent or know someone who knows an agent to get your work seen.
If there is anyone out there who has advise for me I would greatly appreciate it. This is my passion. I need to spread the word about saving the dog population from impending euthanization; one reader at a time.
Please help if you can.
