glad to hear from you and that you are so busy promoting your book. I looked into the Festival of Books, but just too expensive for me. FYI, the Orange County children's book festival is more reasonable. $75 for a table in the author's booth, so I'm starting out with that, then looking into arts/crafts booths - again because they get crowds and the cost is not so high. $10 or Less does not charge to come in and promote your book. they allow the author to sell after the reading, but do not have a program in place to give shelf space. I recently retired from a full time job, but moving the book for reader recognition is so time consuming. I hope you can make this Saturday; I have two other local authors from jacketflap who are going to be there , and I was hoping to network or set a date/time for us to get together to exchange ideas. This is my first rodeo, so I'm learning/searching as I go. If you want a book signing at $10-less, just bring in your book and leave it with Sheila, the manager. She will read it and get back to you or you may need to follow up with her. She's very busy. She was also at the Festival.
My best to you and I would like to hear more about book promos at Munchies. My book is not a picture book but a novel for kids. I have another commitment for next Saturday, otherwise I would definitely be there. please stay in touch if you can't make it this Saturday.
