I extend my sincerest greeting to all visitors to my flapjack profile. I teach by profession, but I write by passion! In 2009, I added photographer to my repertoire and opened an online photography business. I live near Atlanta, Georgia with my six zebra finches: Ponce (de Leon), Bella (Isabella), Snowflake, Stripe, Peek-a-boo, and Alpha. Even though I have been writing for over ten years, I decided to take my work more seriously in 2008. In 2009, was introduced to nature photography and began working on a photo/poetry book. March 2009, my first poem and photograph were published by Diana Kay Publishing (Florida). In December 2009, I completed the 91-page manuscript and have recently sent it off to publishers.
My first self-published children's book is currently on hold, so that I can focus on my photography. For some reason, I cannot seem to place my writing gift into any specific category,so I describe myself as an educational writer and poet who delves into photography and folk art for inspiration. I look forward to chatting and sharing with other like-minded artists who are working to make 2010 a wonderfully prosperous and productive year.
This year, I vow to become a more active member of the Jacket Flap family. I look forward to chatting with interesting like-minded and creative spirits, as we work to make 2010 OUR YEAR!
