I have never done one in NYC but I would. I charge $500.00 for a single show and $250.00 for additional shows. If a school has a tight budget I will work with them and try and find ways to bring the show in at what they can afford. 10 To Children's Books will give back $5.00 to the school for every book sold at an event so this is also a way to recoup your money. You do the ordering about three weeks before the show and it will give you an idea of how much you will need to come up with. I don't know how big your school is but I average 50 books per visit. If a school is active in the sales and puts the books out for the parents to see and talks to the parents about the presentation then they can do much better. Parents get busy and sometimes these things will slip their minds. Let me know what your budget is first and then we can talk about what to do. Another way we do this is to treat it like a fundraiser charge a flat fee for every child that participates. The children would get one book for participating, coloring pages and the presentation. The last one I did like this was Dinosaur at the YMCA in Hillsbourgh NJ. The cost would be $22.99 per child with $5.00 going to your school. I would need 30 kids to participate to be able to do a show like this. The day of the show you could let all the children take part in the presentation. But it should be sold to the parents as a sign up and attend. I don't know if this is helpful or long winded but let me know what you think. Do have parking or would I have to find a parking garage?
