My name is Patty. I live in Fairless Hills, Pennsylvania with my husband, and my three wonderful children. By profession, I am a teacher (that's the job that pays the bills:) By heart, I am a writer and storyteller!
I love to teach writing to children. I think that kids have the imaginations needed for writing. My best brainstorming sessions come from sharing my ideas with kids.
Ever since I was a kid myself, I have loved to make up stories. I grew up with 6 brothers, and 1 sister. My parents were so busy caring for us, that it was up to me to entertain myself. Along with my brother Danny, we made up skits, stories, songs, and plays. We would then practice and perform them in our backyard for whoever would come and watch. My mother was very creative with her use of things- everything could be used as something else. things did not get thrown out. Her creativity flowed through me in the stories that I would make up.
I have written a few children's books, but have only recently sent the first one out to some publishers, and so far, no takers (but I doubt they've even had time to read it yet!) So, someday, I may see my name in the children's section of Barnes and Noble, but in the meantime, I will continue to write down my ideas as they come to me!
