I started dabbling in writing for children about five years ago. Since then it has gradully taken over my life! I love children's books and I edit and publish Buzz Words (www.buzzwordsmagazine.com) a resource for children's writers and illustrators.

My number one aim is to be a published trade author for children. So far, I have won a number of writing competitions including the 2009 NSW CBCA Frustrated Writers Competition and am curently being mentored by the wonderfully talented and generous Glenda Millard. I have been published in the children's educational market.

In August 2009, I became editor and publisher of Buzz Words (www.buzzwordsmagazine.com), an e-zine established by Di Bates which provides writers and illustrators of children's and young adult books information on writing markets and opportunities, courses, industry news, book reviews, interviews with children's book industry professionals, articles and much more.

In August 2010, the blog Buzz Words Books (www.buzzwordsmagazine.blogspot.com) as an online book review companion to Buzz Words. The aim is to give children's and young adults books as wide an audience as possible and to help others choose books that they or the children in their lives love.

My venture into the blogosphere has not been limited to one blog. I also started Dog-eared Books (www.vickistanton.blogspot.com) to post my views on books, writing or anything that I think may be of interest to writers and illustrators for children. I also occassionally want to say something totally random!
