Hello! I’m known by “Casey” to all . . . “Honey” to one, “Mom” to some, and “Casey Kizer Kiel” professionally. I debated writing this brief bio in third person, but after numerous failed attempts, I am surrendering to failure and addressing you all in the best way I know how: with friendly informality.

I’ve made my home in Indianapolis, Indiana, a city two hours south of where I grew up and originally fell in love with drawing, since 2000. I moved here partly to follow my artistic passions at the John Herron Institute of Art, but mostly to follow my passion for the dear man I married. After growing up together in our home church, we married in 2000. He has been an endless source of encouragement and support and frequently served as my own person model for art projects. Having lost a leg to cancer at only age six, my artistic interpretations of his likeness always raised a few eyebrows when presented to the class. “Um, Casey, did you run out of time to finish his other leg?” We both have a great sense of humor about the situation and consider it a handy devise for witnessing.

For every “masterpiece” my husband has aided me in creating, the three most beautiful and precious are our children. Our son, God’s gift who defied medical opinion by merely existing, was born in 2002. Our two adorable daughters were born in 2005 and 2007. Our first daughter did me the honor of joining me on Mother’s Day 2005 as I accepted my diploma for my Bachelor’s in Art. Although she did little more than make my gown resemble a circus tent, as I was greatly pregnant with her.

Currently, I am pursuing both my passions for parenthood and art. I feel very blessed the God has granted me a skill that can allow me to work and still attend to my children. My artwork, and my children, I enjoy and love enough to put my very best into every minute spent with them. And where there are deficiencies, I work diligently to correct them. No professions could be taken more seriously… or appreciated more deeply.
