I have had two short stories published in SEVENTEEN magazine (back when it published fiction.) I've also had several middle school plays and skits published.
I just finished my first novel, Hope Is A Dragon, and I'm pondering what to do next.
I sent it off to an editor at MacMillian I dealt with years ago, and she after reading the first chapter she asked to see the whole book. That was in December. I got a letter yesterday explaining MacMillian is restructuring their Children's Book division and she is losing her job.
(Updated March 7, 2013) Although I didn't want to self publish, my teen romance novel is has many current references. The fear that it will soon be dated pushed me to publish it on Amazon Kindle--which isn't as "bad" as vanity pressing it. (I'm not out any money.) But not as good as having an editor or publisher to promote it. But I'm getting good reviews and I am allowing myself a teensy bit of hope.
