I grew up on an old wooden sailboat called the Gaucho, and sailed the world. I shared the foc'sle with my sister and the sail bags. And we're still friends.

I love exotic food, and anything that makes me laugh. I live in New Mexico with my husband and two sons. Reading and writing are my passions, but I make time for a lot of other things, too.

My first young adult novel came out in 2009. My Invented Life is a comedy of errors, with mistaken identities, ambiguous sexuality, skate gods, stage geeks, and true love.

Publisher's Weekly had this to say about it:
