About Jamie
As a graduate from the School of Visual Arts with a B.F.A. degree, I am a freelance illustrator and designer with over twenty-five years experience, mostly in publishing. Some of my clients include Crain's New York, Xerox, and Money magazine. In 2000, I illustrated my first children’s book The Little Green House, published by Twins magazine.
A recent graduate from F.I.T. with an M.A. degree, I'm now combining my stories with illustrations to create a number of projects including children's books. The children's books are both entertaining and thoughtful, with well developed characters that children can relate to. "Sidney Sees a Shrink" is the first of these and is available through www.LuLu.com.
As for my art: My designs are clean and organized with a certain softness to them. My illustrations are thought provoking and fun. Most pieces begin with traditional media and end up on the computer. I love the immediacy and visceral touch you get when working with pen and ink, but for making color adjustments there is nothing like a computer.
