Greetings from the heart of the world's only green desert. We retired here from Pennsylvania a few years ago and found the Tucson area is alive with writers and illustrators. So, we have created Old Pueblo Press, llc to bring together a variety of services.

I began writing for our weekly newspaper while in high school many years ago, took up photography and became pretty good at it and became a stringer for the old Philadelphia Bulletin. An editor there, Sam Boyle, encouraged me to start writing and enrolled me in a new correspondence school some of his friends had started, The Newspaper Institute of America. I've been writing since for newspapers and in public relations and advertising positions with a Fortune 500 company.

I have just finished work on my first children's book, PEEP The Cactus Dragon, based on a giant saguaro cactus that resembles a dragon, that I found in the Saguaro National Park. It is illustrated by Kathy Robbins and we're working with a group of teachers now who are developing environmental education lesson plans based on the book. That's something many writers have overlooked in their promotion efforts. Teachers are a great source to help promote books that help make their work easier. You might want to take a look at PEEP because this proves that you NEVER know where your next idea will come from.
