I was born and raised in Edinburgh. After leaving school in the late 1980's I worked in various jobs before studying for a qualification in Child Care and Education. I worked as a Nursery Nurse for many years, employed as part of the Early Intervention Programme to help with low literacy levels in the Craigmillar area.
