Let's see. About me. Well, I spent most of my life working as a speech and language therapist with children of all ages. After retiring a few years ago, I met a very lively woman named Maria Luisa Retana, who was beginning her career as an author of children's books. We became friends, then I became the illustrator for her book, "Tanili, un cuento afrocubano/Tanili, An Afro-Cuban Folktale".
Now, even more years later, I am working on writing and illustrating my own book, which is set in a Oaxacan market, and features a boy, Miguel, and his fortune telling bird, Angelito. I am hoping it will be the first of thee books featuring Miguel and Angelito, the second being set in a Mexican fair, or feria, and the last in a festival.
The picure gallery includes two examples of illustrations from my unpublished book, and 6 from Tanili.
