Lynn Kuntz is an award-winning writer whose nonfiction children’s books include: ‘The Naturalist’s Handbook, Activities For Young Explorers’ ( ‘Top Hand Award for Best Children’s Book of the Year’), ‘American Grub, Eats for Kids from All Fifty States’ (Scholastic Book Club selection),’ The Roman Colosseum’ , ‘Fireflies’ and ‘Celebrate the USA’. Kuntz has written newspaper freelance and magazine fiction and nonfiction for a number of publications, including ‘The Dallas Morning News’, ‘Fort Worth Star Telegram’, ‘Durango Herald’, ‘Country Magazine’, ‘Dallas Magazine’, ‘Durango Magazine’, ‘Grand Circle’, ‘Highlights’, ‘International Living’ and ‘Colorado Parent’. She has co-written five award-winning films for children and one feature family film, ‘Dakota’. Kuntz’s stories and essays have appeared in anthologies, including ‘Seasons of a Woman’s Heart’, ‘Treasures of a Woman’s Heart’, ‘My Cat, Herman’ and the ‘Chicken Soup for the Soul’ series. Awards include a Dallas Press Club Award for ‘Outstanding Achievement in Journalism’, co-writer credit for USA Film Festival award-winning ‘Angel Alley’, and a Christian Film & Video ‘Dramatic Film of the Year’ award for the film’ Harley’, which also won a ‘Best of the Year’ Award of Merit, and Southwest Writers Guild ‘Best Children’s Story’ Award for ‘Rosie’s Summer Hummer’ . Kuntz has taught ‘Travel Writing’, ‘Freelance Magazine Writing’, and ‘Writing Books for Children’ at the Fort Lewis College Continuing Education program.
