I've been around kids--taking care of them and/or teaching them--since I was nine years old, first as an older sibling, then sitter, high school teacher, youth program director, elementary school arts education/literacy enrichment program director, children's book writer, and nanny. (Whew!)

Then this emphasis on children "grew up." In the last years I've been teach in a graduate leadership studies program, mentoring college students in writing, freelance editing, helping clients write book proposals, and coaching other adults who want to write.

However, I still adore children's books--especially those that make me sigh, cry, or laugh. I love and want to keep writing books that let kids know that someone's always "home" for them and books that feed their deepest hungers.

Meanwhile, my own unpublished children's books manuscripts plaintively call to me once again....
