Because his reading level is so much lower than his grade level, he often complains about having to read baby books about "stupid stuff" at school. He is an avid BMXer and is really interested in skateboarding so I brought him this book today, and his eyes just about bugged out of his little head. Yesterday he had no desire to even try anymore, and today I was able to use reading as a reward because he was so excited. When my time with him was up he didn't want to stop reading. It is so hard to find good high interest low level books for him, but the subject matter, large print, simple verbage, and even the colored pages in this book are perfect for him. Thank you!
