They eventually make their way back where they came from leaving their magic lily pads behind. The police are boggled, and other animals get freaked out. The frogs can apparently fly until sunrise, which is when the magic ends. The title was decided on because it was the day of the week that rhymed closest to ooze, which reminded him of frogs. It is a very strange, but entertaining story that really challenges closed minded thinkers to imagine this scenario. The story starts off with a three panel picture that generates some drama and interest. There are two –page spreads with close-ups here and there, that show how much fun the frogs are having flying. All the other animals look like they saw ghosts when they see the frogs. Some of the illustrations are monochromatic with splashes of green frogs that jump out at you. It is mostly cool colors for the nighttime feel. All the illustrations are sketched by hand from Weisner’s imagination, and finished with watercolor.
