Ballyhoo looks absolutely entrancing. I did join the circus when I was 17 and toured the country and Canada with the Hamid-Morton Shrine Circus as a trick bicycle and unicycle rider. The glamor was extinguished in my first Spec when marching along behind the elephants and waving at the enthusiastic crowd I stepped into a large round elephant dropping which clung to my shoe(a three-inch heel) and would not be shaken loose. The audience, of course, thought it hysterical! As an "artiste" I committed the "grande faux-pas" of riding in the camel truck to save money(phew)and associating with the roustabouts. After a year and a half of trying to support myself on $75 a week, paying all my travel expenses, eating in greasy spoons and overnighting in fleabag hotels, I quit the act and went to college. It was definetely a memorable experience!
